Why this black suit
-
Italian wool from Vitale Barberis Canonico. One of the world's best-known suit cloth mills. Pure wool keeps a deep, even black, breathes through a long day and recovers from creases overnight.
-
A black that stays black. Cheap black suits in polyester blends turn shiny and grey over time. Fine wool holds its colour and its matt finish.
-
Clean, modern lines. A two-button notch lapel jacket and slim trousers that look right with a white shirt and black tie, or open-necked for an evening out.
-
Made for you, not off the rack. Choose a standard jacket size and length, send your body measurements, or copy a suit that already fits you. Every suit is cut and sewn for one person.
-
Free shipping worldwide. Tracked delivery to the USA, UK, Canada, Europe, the Middle East and beyond.
When to wear a black suit
A black suit is the most formal everyday suit. Wear it to evening weddings, galas, black-tie optional events, formal dinners and funerals, and to the office when you need to look your most serious. For a classic formal look, pair it with a crisp white shirt, a black or silver silk tie and black oxford shoes. For a modern evening look, try a black or dark grey shirt with no tie.
Black suit or navy suit?
Navy is the more versatile day-to-day business suit. Black is more formal and dramatic, and is the right choice after dark and for formal events. If you already own a navy suit, a black suit is the natural next one.

Can I wear a black suit to work?
Yes. A well-fitted black wool suit looks sharp and serious for interviews, presentations and formal business meetings. For everyday office wear, many men alternate it with navy and grey.

A white shirt is the classic choice. Add a black, silver, burgundy or dark blue silk tie and black shoes. Light blue and pale pink shirts also work for daytime.
